Guide
How to run a tattoo flash day
Short answer: pick a date and a theme, prepare one sheet of designs with fixed sizes and prices, announce it two weeks ahead, run a first-come walk-in list – and get every consent form signed while people wait.
Plan it
1
Date and theme
Friday the 13th, holidays and studio anniversaries draw crowds.
2
Designs
One sheet per artist, small sizes, fixed prices – one-of-a-kind or repeatable.
3
Announce
Post the designs two weeks ahead and again the day before, with the address and hours.
4
Staff
Every artist on the floor and one person on the front desk.
On the day
- A QR code at the door: clients join the list on their phone and can wait nearby.
- Clients sign their consent form while they wait.
- Call the next client when an artist is free – their phone tells them it is their turn.
- Mark one-of-a-kind designs as taken.
- Record every payment and tip before the next client.
After
Send aftercare to everybody, ask for reviews and healed photos – and count what the day brought in, per artist.
How GITECHY INK helps
Flash gallery with photo, size, price and artist; flash days with their own designs; a walk-in queue with a live “your turn” page on the client’s phone; consent forms on the tablet or phone; check out with tips; aftercare emails by themselves.
Questions
Do flash day clients need a deposit?
Usually not – it is first come, first served. Online flash bookings on normal days can still take a deposit.
How many tattoos can an artist do?
For small flash, often 6–12 in a day – keep enough time between clients for set-up and cleaning.
